India’s Top 10 Business Schools that accept CAT Scores (Non-IIMs)
Friday, September 13th, 2019
MBA aspirants, especially the ones who are trying their hand at CAT for the first time, have two major misconceptions:
Filling CAT form is enough. You have automatically applied to other colleges.
Only IIMs are worth it. No need to apply to other colleges.
Both of the above statements are false and a lot of MBA aspirants make the mistake of not applying to a bunch of good colleges because of lack of information or by the time they find out about it – it is too late. I have made this video and written this blogpost in the hope that you don’t make the same mistake. Let’s address them one by one.

Filling CAT form is not enough
While filling the CAT form, you are supposed to fill the names of the IIMs you are interested in. You are also supposed to fill the names of the courses you are interested in. By doing that, what you have done is – you have shown your interest in a limited number of courses at a limited number of colleges (IIMs). This is not an automatic application for all business schools. You will need to go to each and every college’s website that you are interested in and then fill the forms separately for them. Otherwise, you will not be considered by those colleges. I know it seems obvious to experienced CAT aspirants but I have seen a bunch of students make the obvious mistake and miss out on the deadlines so I thought it is important to clarify.
List of top 10 Business Schools that you should apply for
While there is no particular list that would fit for all aspirants, here are a few that I strongly recommend that you should check out. I have also added some data along with it so that it helps you figure out the colleges that you can target. Let me add, the data mentioned in most cases is indicative and obtained from official websites. For stuff like, percentile required – hard data is not available in most cases because these colleges do not declare such information in the public domain. Given below is a list of top 10 colleges that I find particularly useful for most CAT aspirants.
I hope that you find this post useful and you will apply to these colleges before the last date is released. We have made a Crash Course for CAT 2019 to help you prepare for the CAT exam in the last 10 weeks. Details are given below:
