IIM Indore IPM | IPM 2020
Five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) is conducted by IIM Indore for its prestigious 5 year Integrated Programme in Management. The course is divided into 2 parts. The first three years build a foundation, and the last two years focus on management, they are added in IIM Indore MBA/PGDM batch. Only 120 seats are available in IIM Indore for IPM programme.
IIM INDORE IPM | IPM 2020 | Eligibility Criteria
IIM Indore has set the following criteria for IIM Indore 5 year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM).
- Age: Candidate should have been born on or after August 01, 1999 (5 years of relaxation to the candidates from SC/ST/PwD category will be given i.e. born on or after August 01, 1994).
- Minimum Percentage (%) of marks: Candidate should have Minimum 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations (55 % for the candidates from SC/ST/ PwD category).
- Qualifying Exam: Candidate should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020.
Note 1: Candidates who are likely to complete standard XII/ HSC or equivalent by the end of June 30, 2020 can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria as mentioned above. If selected, such candidates will be offered admission to the programme provisionally. At the time of registration for the programme, such candidate must have to produce standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations mark sheet (securing minimum marks, as indicated above) with school leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the candidate’s provisional admission offer will stand cancelled.
Note 2: The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in X and XII Standard would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board’s regulation. In case the candidates are awarded letter grades or grades points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the Board/ Competent Authority explaining the method of conversion from where they have obtained the certificate.
Note 3: IIM Indore reserves the right to decide the eligibility conditions in terms of equivalence, percentage marks, and the recognition of the qualifying examination, intake etc.
Note 4: Applicants pursuing their X and/or XII standard from international schools affiliated to foreign board’s like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply.

Questions are asked from Percentages, Profit and Loss, SI and Cl. Number System, Average, Mixture and Solution, Ratio and Proportion, Time Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Progressions, Geometry and Mensuration, Inequalities, Logarithms and Graphs.
Questions are also asked from Data Interpretation Matrices, Determinants and basic questions from trigonometry.
Verbal Ability Topics: This section consists of
- Reading Comprehension: 2 to 3 passages (5 questions each). The passages were on culture, economy, and developmental issues.
- Vocabulary: 10-12 questions on Antonyms and Synonyms,
- Other types of questions: Para Jumble, Paragraph Completion, Summary questions, Word Usage, Fill in the Blanks.
Calculation of Composite Score
IIM Indore calculates IPM-AT Composite Score as:
- Score in Quantitative Ability 60 x (Candidate’s Score — Min. Score)/(Max. Score — Min. Score)
- Score in Verbal Ability 40 x (Candidate’s Score — Min. Score)/(Max. Score — Min. Score)
- Aptitude Test Score (ATS) Sum of above scores (max 100)
- Based on above Composite Score, Candidates with highest Scores in each category are invited for interview. For final admission interviews, weightages are:
- Weightage of Exam = 50%
- Weightage of Personal Interview = 35%
- Weightage for WAT=15%
IIM Indore IPMAT exam paper has two sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning & Verbal Ability& Reading Comprehension. In previous papers, there were 60 Questions in Section 1 of IPMAT and 40 in Section 2.

As can be seen, this section had a wide mix of topics. DI casellet was easy. The questions based on functions were difficult while those based on coordinate geometry were moderately tough, and logarithms were doable. 15-28 questions with 80% accuracy, a good raw score would be 75+.

The questions were time consuming & moderate level. 10-11 questions with 75-80% accuracy, one would have earned 28-32 marks as a raw score.

This was an easy section and provided opportunity to score.

The IPMAT 2020 application form will be available on the official website of IIM Indore from Mid March onwards. The deadline to submit the form with the application fee will be April 14(Tentative). Aspirants are required to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form of IPMAT 2020.

17,716 applicants filled the examination form for the Aptitude test of IPM out of which 15,901 attended the exam of IPMAT. The conducting body said that 11,454 candidates secured positive raw score (greater than or equal to 1) in all three sections and were called for further rounds of selection procedure of IPMAT.

The IPMAT selection process comprises of a two-step process. The first step requires the aspirants to appear in the IPM Aptitude Test. On the basis of overall score secured in the Aptitude Test, candidates are shortlisted for the second stage which involves a Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Stage two of the IPMAT selection procedure will take place in the first week of June. After this, a final merit list of IPMAT will be announced which enlist the names of candidates eligible for admission in the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore for 2021-25 batch.
The selection procedure of IPMAT is held at eight cities. The weightage given to the various stages of IPMAT selection process is as follows:
Aptitude test score – 50 percent (Written test – Quantitative Ability section + Verbal Ability section)
Personal interview – 35 percent
Written ability test – 15 percent
Also, as per the Government of India regulations or Reservation Norms, there is a reservation percentage for categories like Schedules Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC-NCL, and PwD which will be considered at the time of admission.

IIM INDORE IPM | IPM 2020 | Phases
IPM is broadly divided into two Phases:
- First three years and,
- Last two years.
IIM Indore first three years focuses on basics/foundation and last two years on Management. Students need to complete two internship 1st at the end of 3rd year and second between 4th and 5th year. It helps student get practical experience of their learning.
Students who clear this 5 years of academic programme are awarded with Bachelors of Arts (Foundation of Management) and Master of Business Administration (under the Dual Degree Programme) by IIM Indore. A Study Centre and an Examination Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University have been opened at IIM Indore to facilitate students to get a bachelor’s degree.

IIM Indore continues to prove its mettle in the industry by successfully concluding the Final Placements for the batch of 2017-19. The outgoing batch comprised 607 candidates (440 PGP, 96 Dual Degree and 71 PGP Mumbai students), the highest across any B school in India. The season set new milestones with a whooping 40% increase in the highest salary offered and a homogenous mix of 200+ regular and first time recruiters reaffirming their faith in the institute.
The highest international package stood at 89.25 LPA while the highest domestic package offered was 40.5 LPA. The average CTC of the batch was 20.79 LPA, a 14% increase from the previous year’s statistics. Both the flagship PGP course and the IIM Indore exclusive Dual degree program in Management students shone in their respective fields, recording one of the most successful placement season for the campus.
The average salary for the top 50 offers stood at INR 30.04 LPA and at INR 28.47 LPA for the top 100. The median salary for the graduating batch rose significantly to INR 19.4 LPA.The number of Pre Placement offers stood at 132.
