Slot – 3 – Quantitative Aptitude – TSD – Anil, Sunil, and Ravi run along a circular path

Q. Anil, Sunil, and Ravi run along a circular path of length 3 km, starting from the same point at the same time, and going in the clockwise direction. If they run at speeds of 15 km/hr, 10 km/hr, and 8 km/hr, respectively, how much distance in km will Ravi have run when Anil and Sunil meet again for the first time at the starting point?
  1. 4.6
  2. 5.2
  3. 4.8
  4. 4.2
Answer: 4.8

Solution:
Ratio of speed of Anil and Sunil = 15:10 = 3:2
Which means they will met first time on starting point when Anil will make 3 rounds that is he will travel for 3*3 = 9km
Time taken to cover 9 km for Anil = 9/15 *60 = 36 min
Distance traveled by Ravi by then = 36/60 *8 = 4.8 km
