Slot – 1 – Quantitative Aptitude – Percentage – In a group of people, 28% of the members
Q. In a group of people, 28% of the members are young while the rest are old. If 65% of
the members are literates, and 25% of the literates are young, then the percentage of
old people among the illiterates is nearest to?
Let us assume that the total number of people is 100.
28 are young and 72 are old. 65 are literate and 35 are illiterate.
Among the literate, 25% (ie 16.25 are young) and the rest 65-16.25 = 48.75 are old.
Among the old, illiterate will be 72-48.75 = 23.25
So, percentage of old in illiterate will be 23.25/35 * 100, which is approximately 66%
