Slot – 3 – Quantitative Aptitude – Equation – Let N, x and y be positive integers such that N
Q. Let N, x and y be positive integers such that N = x + y, 2 < x < 10 and 14
< y < 23. If N > 25, then how many distinct values are possible for N? Answer: 6
Solution:
As per question ,
N = x + y, 2 < x < 10 and 14 < y < 23
Or (2+14 -1) < N < (10+23 -1)
OR 15 < N < 32
Also N > 25
So 25 < N < 32
Thus possible values of N = 26, 27,..31
Total = 6
