In this post I would like to cover some of the basic ideas about personal interviews. Since brevity is the soul of wit, and tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes, I will try to be brief.
Whom do the interviewers select?
The candidate they “like” – so your job is to be “liked” by the panel.
Attributes that normal panels like:
Be ruthlessly honest with your answers
You should know your subject
You should understand your immediate environ
Your answering should demonstrate analysis
Listen to the words and the body language
Answer the question asked

Importance of Reading Comprehension for CAT 2017
Reading Comprehension has always been an important part of the CAT exam. In CAT 2014, there were 4 passages with 16 questions out of a total of 100 questions. In CAT 2013, there were 3 passages with 9 questions out of a total of 60 questions. Safe to say, it is not something that you can ignore if you are planning to do well in CAT. As a matter of fact, I recommend my online CAT 2017 course students to dedicate at least 1 full day every week to practicing passages for Reading Comprehension.

Verbal Ability is an important part of the CAT syllabus. Roughly 15-20 % of CAT paper is based on Verbal Ability (not including Reading Comprehension). A significant part of questions on Verbal Ability are based on logic and reasoning, sometimes also referred to as Critical Reasoning. The other part is based on Grammar and Vocabulary. Although the number of questions which are directly based on Grammar and Vocabulary is not high, having a good command over these topics helps you do well in the exam.
