Quizzing is an old hobby of mine. I used to quiz a bit in school and a lot in my college years at Kharagpur. As a matter of fact, I even travelled to Indore and Allahabad to participate in quizzes. And back in the day, travel for hobbies didn’t happen by flight but by sleeper class trains. This lockdown gave me an opportunity to conduct couple of live quizzes and I will be lying if I said I didn’t have fun doing them. One of them was based on food and another one on Bollywood. As a matter of fact, I am planning another one on Cricket soon. You can follow me on twitter – I will share details about the same once the time and date is final.
I decided to combine this hobby of mine with CAT preparation to come up with the idea of ‘Big CAT Quiz of the Lockdown’. Now you might be wondering that what does this even mean. Well, I have two goals with this quiz event:
Given below are more details about the event. Hope you will take part in it and have fun as well.

Based upon the performance, 40 candidates will be selected for Round 2.
These 40 candidates will be decided based upon two factors:
a) How much they scored

For example, if the cutoff is 4 out of 10 – first 40 candidates who scored 4 or more will be selected for Round 2.
Round 2 –
40 candidates will be emailed Round 2 of the quiz.

20 Winners will be decided by adding candidate scores in Round 1 & Round 2
In case of a tie in scores, tie will be broken in the following order:
The one who performed better in Round 2 would be preferred
If the tie still remains, the one who took less time in round 2 will be preferred.
If the tie still remains, the one who took less time in round 1 will be preferred.

Narendra, Amit, Rahul, Arvind, Mamta, Udhav, Nirmala, Sonia are 8 corrupt politicians with Swiss bank accounts with different amounts in their accounts. What is the probability that Amit has more than Rahul, Arvind, and Mamta?
Answer: 1/4
We are only interested in relative position of these 4.
So we can imagine the question as an arrangement question.
Probability of Amit sitting on the 1st position = 1/4
DhruvSB from Twitter has won the book. Please email us your address on [email protected] so that we can send you a copy.
