Admission / Selection Criteria of old IIMs

One of the most common queries that I, or most people in the CAT Coaching business, get these days is - "Will I be able to get a call from an old IIM with X% in 10th and Y% in 12th, etc.?". Is IIM Kozhikode lying in its placement report? The answer is NO

I think IIM Kozhikode is lying not lying in its placement report. I might be was wrong about this and I apologize. I have heard about B-schools dressing up their placement reports but this seems extremely unlikely to me. Please note that I am not trying to expose anyone here but just trying to figure out the math behind it. I have been getting a bunch of requests from students over the past couple of weeks about whether this is the right time to start preparation for CAT 2016. One of them in particular (let's call him AK) sounds really worried every time he calls me.
