time speed and distance

Two trains are traveling in the same direction at 50km/hr and 30 km/hr respectively.the faster train crosses a man in the slower train in 18 seconds.find the length of the faster train?

Hi Suraj,

I am just assuming that the man in the slower train is static. Relative speed = 50 - 30 = 20 kmph = 100/18 m/sec = 50/9 m/sec
Time taken to cross the man = 18 sec
Length = 50/9 x 18 = 100 m
